President's Message
Happy 2023!
It's hard to believe another year is behind us, and that we already have a whole new year ahead of us!
We're looking forward to the new things we can do and be in 2023. And for us (formerly known as) Medical Technologists, you most likely saw that we are now calling ourselves Medical Laboratory Scientists--MLS, as of last fall. This is to unify our profession and also to have a common voice for advocacy. This better describes the specialized knowledge that we have in the medical laboratory field.
2023's Annual AMTMeeting will be held in Norfolk, Virginia, from July 24-28! I'm looking forward to going, how about you? Another event that is coming up is Phlebotomy Recognition Week from February 13-17. Let us know if you are planning to do anything special--or if you would like any items to help celebrate at your workplace. AMThas various items available that can be used to help celebrate and promote AMTfor each of the recognition weeks. We also have our NVSSAMTSpring board meeting coming up on Thursday evening, April 27. As always, we welcome your input into our state society's operation and meetings.
